We had a solid week this week. Elder Reid’s an awesome
companion who’s been a big help to the work here. We went out with the senior
couple here and visited a lot of members in between finding activities. It’s been
awesome! Although it’s felt challenging at times, it’s been a great learning
opportunity to try and strengthen the ward. We had some success in finding some
people to teach, including a family! We talked about strengthening families
with them, we’re excited to start helping them out as much as we can.
We did a big Stake Blitz here in Machida station and I got
to go around town a bit with Elder Waldron who is also from Las Vegas, he just
got in the Mission at the same time as Elder Reid. We played on the same rugby
team and he used to home teach my brother Jonathan so it was kind of fun hearing
how things are going back in Vegas while we walked around town.
Elder Stevenson of the 12 Apostles came and talked to our
Mission and the Tokyo Mission. It was a great 2 hours, lots of good things on
how to be better missionaries and work with the members. He even spoke Japanese
for some parts. Yes, Elder Stevenson speaks perfect Japanese with a super
American accent. It was fun to say the least. He’s a very kind man.
We’ve got a lot of appointments set up for the upcoming week
that we’re excited about. The weather is getting cooler (kind of) and the work
is just cruising along. Everyday’s a learning opportunity!
